The Lion’s Castle Hotel 3*

Zamok Leva (The Lion’s Castle) is squirreled away in a quiet corner of the historic city, a little away from all the hubbub. This mock castle in miniature has welcomed some colourful guests over the years, including the grande dame of Polish film Beata Tyszkiewicz, Mikhail Gorbachev and in more recent times, Orange Revolution hero Viktor Yushchenko. It’s not a luxury hotel as such, but the place has very pleasant staff and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Hotel Lion’s Castle is located in the elite housing area of Lviv, embracing two buildings owned by the Austro-Hungarian and Polish elite before the World War Two, and by the Communist Party leaders in the times of Soviet Union.
In the days of Independent Ukraine our hotel guests politicians and businessmen, diplomats, departmental ministers, deputies and all those who want to feel the friendly and homelike atmosphere that prevails in the Lion’s Castle.
The unique and fairy-tale atmosphere of our castle made a due impression on the filmmakers from the Dovzhenko Film Studio, who used the territory of the hotel to film some scenes of a Christmas movie entitled “The Gift of Fate”.
You will be enchanted by the beautiful surroundings of the hotel, where under the tree crowns the time seems to stop.

Hotel Swiss has made its home just round the corner from the sweeping Schevchenko Avenue.(pictured above) one of Lviv’s most dashing promenades. There’s nothing especially Swiss about the place, so don’t expect a folksy chalet-style interior or anything along those lines. The hotel offers plain, comfortable accommodation, and besides singles and doubles there are apartments of varying to degrees of luxury.
Each room has its original interior. Rooms have: satellite TV, a telephone, a refrigerator, a mini-bar, an air-conditioner, safe-locker. In bathrooms: a hair dryer, towels, slippers and toiletries. The hotel is situated in the very centre of the city at Kniazia Romana Str 20.

Hotel Eney takes its name from Aeneas, legendary hero of the Trojan war. Bur what on earth does he have to do with this neck of the woods, you might well ask. Well, the Trojan’s legacy has been woven into Ukrainian consciousness by legendary playwright Ivan Kotlyarevsky – all Ukrainian schoolchildren can quote verses from the great bard’s ‘Aeneas’. The hotel has developed a correspondingly gallant reputation – it’s located in an attractive, quiet part of town near some grand university buildings and the magical wooded necroplis of Lychakiv. You can walk to the main square via the elegent Piekarska street. All rooms are air-conditioned and come with satellite TV and internet connection.

Hetman can manage business meetings with its 300 capacity conference room. Most of the guestrooms themselves come equipped with colour TV and radio. These generally have shared bathrooms.
Volter Hotel 3*

Volter (Voltaire) may not be right in the heart of things but it makes up for this with bags of character. This is actually the sister hotel of Nton, and it opened in 2004 due to the continuing popularity of the former. Volter is in fact located two and a half kilometres north east of the city centre. It has 31 rooms, from singles to suites, yet all come with satellite TV, phone and internet connection. The more upscale rooms have a few more pleasant perks. Finally, we can’t sign out wihout a pearl of wisdom from the great Voltaire himself, so here’s one of our favourites: ‘ Ice cream is exquisite – what a pity it isn’t illegal.’
George Hotel 2*

Built in 1901 in the heart of Lviv and being an architectural gem of the city, the George impresses with the lofty marble staircases and moulding. So far it is 2-stars only. One day this hotel will gain its beauty and style again. But at the moment, inexpensive economy rooms there are obsolete and have shared bathroom facilities.
Thanks to the recent renovation, suites and junior suites became beautiful, light and cosy, and fit the building atmosphere perfectly. The hotel usually has no vacant rooms since prices and quality satisfy diverse budgets, while the location is really good.

Kolyba Lviv Motel 3*

Hotel complex “Kolyba”, located in the picturesque countryside of Bruhovychi on the lake shore, is an original and unique corner of Bukovyna culture in Halychyna. Its outward appearance, interiors, folklore art masterpieces create the atmosphere of comfort and calmness.
Hotel complex “Kolyba” has already existed for 5 years. The history of its creation is interesting and full of teaching. Earlier, at this place, where “Kolyba” is outlined on the horizon, the typical restaurant of Soviet type was located. Once, a very sociable and enterprising man, who came round there with his friends, said for fun, that he would buy this restaurant and transform it into something new and unusual. This easy joke was destined to be realised. The restaurant underwent substantial changes in a quite short period of time. Moreover, it acquired unexpectedly unusual face: reflected in local Bukovyna colouring, sonorous ringing songs, in hospitality, generosity and cordiality All this beauty was imprinted in soul and mind of each person, who at least once in his life was a guest in this unusual establishment.
Years flashed by and “Kolyba” has been changed into the hotel complex. The hotel and small cottages appeared beside the restaurant. Nowadays, “Kolyba” essentially differs from other hotel complexes, existing in Lviv region. The guests of the complex are fascinated by the atmosphere of folk life, beginning with wickered low hedge and wooden gates and which is perfectly completed in the restaurant, containing the unique things, aged in more than one century. The most part of these things was fetched from authentic Bukovyna settlements and revived by Lviv masters. The particular pride of “Kolyba” is reflected in a small hut from the town of Vashkivtsi in Chernivtsi region, which has already been 118 years old.
You are cordially invited to the hotel complex “Kolyba” You will personally feel this extraordinary and pleasant atmosphere, you will be warmly wrapped in comfort and calmness and receive the best service!

Burger Hotel 3*
Posted by admin on September 4th, 2007 filed in HotelsComment now »
Old Lviv mansion of 1881 has become “At Burger” hotel after restoration in 2002. Capacity of the hotel is 18 rooms only, each having conveniences of a recently built Ukrainian hotel, such as Internet access and cable TV.
However, seldom power-offs might occur since the hotel does not have autonomous power supply. It happens rarely, by the way, and is gracefully resolved by lit candles fitting 19th century hotel’s atmosphere perfectly.
While all the rooms have modern interior, the mansion outer look was kept to the most original. Small restaurant downstairs adds patina to the old-fashioned image of the building and serves delicious selection from the Western Ukrainian cuisine. Conference room and guarded parking lot are at guests’ disposal.
